The highway splits and continues on to the Chinese and Tajik borders known as the Osh – Irkeshtam Highway and the Osh – Khorog Highway, respectively.
There’s also a gorgeous road that winds up the northern side of the pass and continues down to the south where it enters a neighboring pass called 40 Years of Kyrgyzstan (3541 m), then leads to the village of Sary Tash. Driving along this road you’ll notice a monument dedicated to Jury M. Grushko, who was responsible for completing several impressive engineering projects in the area in 1930.
