Ratsek Cabin was originally just a small cabin made of stone that was used by alpinists and hikers for shelter. Now it serves as a kind of base camp for people making their way up the Ak Sai Glacier. Staying in the cabin is free of charge, but most people choose to set up tents around the cabin.
