Lake Kara Suu (2,000 m) is a 6.5 kilometer long lake with an average depth of 90 meters located near the Taktalyk Ridge not far from Toktogul Reservoir. It was formed by a mountain collapse hundreds of years ago.

Lake Kara Suu resides in the Fergana Valley.  The area around the lake is quite lush; surrounding the lake you’ll find mighty Tien Shan spruces, wild barberry, mountain ash, as well as many other plant species. 

Nine kilometers outside of the lake lay the small village of Kyzyl Tuu.
