Kojomkul was rumored to be more than 2 meters tall and weigh more than 160 kilos. He was the hands-down winner of any strength or wrestling competition in which he entered in Kyrgyzstan silk road. Not only did he carry a 700 kg boulder on his shoulders, but at one time he was said to have carried a horse for a distance of over 100 meters.
Not only was Kojomkul admired for his strength, but he was highly respected for taking care of the poor in his village. It’s said that after winning a wrestling competition that earned him many sheep and several mares, he gave the animals to the poor and needy.
You can still see the boulder he carried to this day near the Kojomkul Museum that contains pictures of him and some of his belongings. Some of his clothes are on display in the museum as well to help quell any doubts of his size.
