Kalmak Ashu Pass (3,447 m) holds one of the 4 roads that leads to Lake Song Kul in the Naryn Province. The pass will take you to the northern edge of the lake. On the road to the pass you’ll see a variety of gorgeous landscapes ranging from stone deserts to vibrant alpine meadows overrun with Edelweiss.

Kalmak Ashu Pass

Due to its high elevation, Kalmak Ashu Pass is only open from about June to October as it’s covered in heavy snow the rest of the year.  The pass and the area surrounding are excellent for both trekking and cycling during the warmer months.
