Bukhara

Bukhara - one of the oldest cities in Uzbekistan and Central Asia and one of the great commercial centers on the Silk Road. Bukhara is a city-museum, where you can see more than 140 architectural monuments of the Middle Ages. The historical city center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Attractions such as the small mausoleum of Samanids, which recently celebrated its millennium, Kosh Madras, Kalon Minaret and architectural complex Poi Kalyan, were built about 2,300 years ago, and attract many tourists.

Old town should be the first place to visit in Bukhara. You will not need a transport to discover this breathtaking place as its territory is not large. One of the most notable sights of the city - it Kalon minaret, built by Qarakhanid ruler Arslan Khan in 1127. The height of the minaret is 47 m, and his fancy bands decorated with blue tiles.

The summer residence of Bukhara emirs - Ark city citadel - located on the Registan Square. Since ancient times the Ark was a real fortress, where the rulers of Bukhara could sit out anything. In the complex there is everything you need - palaces, temples, barracks, offices, warehouses, workshops, stables, well, arsenal and prison. Today the citadel is a museum.

Labi Havza is a center of the old town. The area Persian name means "the ensemble of the pool." Rectangular pool is surrounded by three monumental buildings of the 16th century: Kukeldash Madrassah, Nadir Divanbegi Madrassah and winter mosque of Nadir Devanbegi. Not far from these places perfectly preserved wonderful market Toki Zargaron is located.
