While the whole gorge is beautiful, Belogorka Gorge’s claim to fame is that it contains the largest waterfall in the Kyrgyz Ala Too Mountain Range. The falls are 60 meters tall and take about 1.5 – 2 hours to reach on foot if starting out from the gorge entrance. What makes these falls unique is that the water from the falls evaporates into a cloud of mist and then reappears down below where is casually transforms into the start of a river.
As far as wildlife, herds of sheep and cows often wander the area, sometimes accompanied by a shepherd, sometimes not. Flowers you might see at different times of the year include poenies, tulips, forget-me-nots, poppies, and globe flowers.
