Transfer to Artsakh, Tatev. (6 km hike, 370 km by car)
Itinerary
We wake up early, we go for a long road along the passes and mountain serpentines. We are going to Artsakh! Although our tour is in Artsakh, it’s impossible to just pass by the Tatev Monastery. On the famous Tatev cable car, we fly over the gorge directly to the monastery. Then we will have a hike along the picturesque Vorotan Gorge to the Great Tatev Desert and Satana Bridge. At the entrance to Artsakh, somehow everything changes around strangely. Mountains become sharper, steep and rocky. Forests are dense and seemingly impassable. Even the sky and air seem completely different here. We will spend the night in a hotel in the city of Shushi.

The ruins preserving the secrets of the monks. Gandzasar (12km hike, elevation difference - 430m; 130km car)
Itinerary
And again, our path lies through the forests to the tops of the mountains! Once in these mountains there was a monastery of severe monks. Over time, they built there not only a monastery, but also a whole settlement. From the settlement there were only ruins overgrown with forest, but the monastery was well preserved. Sometimes it seems that the spirit of those monks is still in the forest. Maybe this is so, or maybe just the ruins and ancient khachkars evoke such thoughts.

There are places that you must visit when visiting Artsakh. Undoubtedly, the main of these places is the majestic Gandzasar monastery, after visiting it we will return to the hotel in Shushi.

The fortress of seven villages and a secret school (9km hike, elevation difference - 530m; 120km by car)
Itinerary
A long time ago, during the time of the Arab invasions, when the Arabs had already approached Artsakh, 7 neighboring villages of the same region decided not to give up. Between these villages, right in the middle, on a high cliff, they built a fortress where they defended themselves and remained alive and free. In addition to the fortress, a school was opened there, which secretly operated until the 20th century. Here in such formidable and mysterious places we will go on a hike through a dense forest with huge stones overgrown with moss. On this day we will also see the oldest and largest tree in the CIS. This is a 2000 year old plane tree, in the hollow of which 100 people can fit. Overnight at the hotel in Shushi.

Local Sherwood Forest and the robber's fortress (12km hike, elevation difference - 805m; 50km by car)
Itinerary
We will go on a hike to the robber's fortress. The robbers have not been there for a long time, and even then they were rather local Robin Hoods. They hid in a dense forest, through which we have to go. The fortress is so well sheltered by the forest that you can not even notice it if you do not come close to it. It is not surprising that the rebellious robbers managed to hide from the authorities there. On the way we will see an old chestnut garden, a pottery workshop, healing springs and much more. Overnight at the hotel in Shushi.

Farewell to the mountains (8km hike; 350km car)
Itinerary
Previously, only one asphalt road led in Artsakh, but now among the steep cliffs, along the bank of the Tartar River, another asphalt road has been laid, which gives us the opportunity to see the wild beauties of the Karvachar region and return to Yerevan through Lake Sevan. Before leaving Artsakh, we will visit the 1st century monastery Dadivank, and climb to the Andaberd fortress, the height of which offers a beautiful view of the Artsakh mountains. This is probably the best place to say goodbye to the hospitable region and, perhaps, promise to return someday. Overnight at a hostel in Yerevan.
