In Baku we arrived in early June. We were ready for a hot summer in the southern country.

We stopped for living in Baku in Shah Palace Hotel (http://eng.shahpalacehotel.com/) in Baku Old Town – for exploring the city is the best place to find. The hotel is made in the spirit of a Moroccan riad. Immediately after checking into the hotel, we left our things and went for a walk. The first 300 meters we walked for an hour, because all this beauty was photographed from different angles. The first thing that caught my eye – an unreal cleanliness of streets … and finally we came upon one of the main attractions of Baku Old Town – Maiden Tower, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. From the lookout the tower offers beautiful views of Baku. At night Baku looks just amazing! The city has just a huge number of fountains! We especially liked the two buildings: the first – a cultural center named after Heydar Aliyev, the second – the tower “Baku lights”. We can highly recommend a trip to Baku, as a very a good alternative for a long weekend, for example and if you think about security, we (two girls) walked along Baku streets alone, without guides and escorts and felt quite comfortable.
