River rafting - one of the most adventurous and popular types of outdoor activities worldwide. One can travel over the river, regardless of age, race, nationality or religion. The only condition - you have to choose the route according to your abilities, experience and level of education.

All Kazakhstan rivers are different! You can travel in Almaty region, in Blue Road Semirechye, Seven Rivers, or Zhetysu - a vast region in the south-east of Kazakhstan, which is located between Lake Balkhash and the mountains of Tien Shan. There are more than seven rivers in this area. All of them belong to the basin of Lake Balkhash. These rivers are the most popular among tourists:

  • Ili - deep river with a calm, very flat course, on which each year runs a mass tourists descend on rafts;
  • Charyn - the river flowing in deep, beautiful canyon;
  • Kok-Su - blue clear waters flowing down from the foothills of the Jungar Alatau;
  • Karatal - flows through the desert and borders with green Tugay forests;
  • Chilik - rough and capricious river flowing through the high ridge of Trans-Ili Alatau;
  • Lepse, Tentek, Bien, Aksu and many other rivers, awaiting raft tourists.

The necessary equipment of raft tourists includes a life jacket, a helmet and a wetsuit for cold water and other standard camping equipment: tent, sleeping bag, warm clothes, etc.

In recent years, white-water rafting became of great interest, so most of Kazakhstan rivers suitable for this type of tourism are used for the organization of rafting tours. Most rafting turbulent rivers are suitable for rafting only in some parts of their length, and at a certain level of water. In order to make a decision on participation in the rafting tour, a participant of the tour should evaluate the complexity of the route. It depends primarily on the obstacles to be overcome during the campaign as they can be dangerous because they prevent the movement of the raft, and carry it back under the stream of water, where it can tip over.

Rafting tour - is not just rowing, it also includes stops at scenic locations with cooking over a campfire, overnight in tents or yurt, playing the guitar. Most of the rafting tours are multi-day trips. However, for those who are just starting out with this kind of holidays, we organize one-day weekend tours.
