Fairy Issyk-Kul lake framed by snow-capped peaks of Tien Shan – one of the biggest and most amazing mountain lakes in the world. On the shore of this brilliant lake in Cholpon-Ata city on May 7 2016 were held Tourist Festival “Salam Issyk-Kul 2016″ and the International Tourism Fair «Issyk-Kul ITF- 2016”. For the first time the fair had a festival format and surprised not only its participants, but also guests. In addition, the first big international info tour along the lake shore was organized for representatives of the tourist industry from Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. One of the initiators and organizers of these activities was the Resorts Association of Kyrgyzstan.
Started with three resorts in 2012, Association aimed to bring together the country’s resort facilities and finally succeeded. Today it has more than 100 participants, including hotels, motels, resorts and tour operators. “Our goal – the creation of a positive image of Kyrgyzstan in the world and the main task – to unite the efforts to promote the country, and of course mutual support” emphasizes the president of Association, Meder Tilekmatov. “After the 3 years work we managed to bring together all the health resort and spa facilities of the region, so today our country can be represented respectable on international exhibitions”.
Kyrgyzstan – is a unique country with great opportunities for recreation and health improvement, therefore, according to the head of Association, the emphasis should be done on health tourism.
Issyk-Kul Lake is famous for its special climatic and natural conditions – marine coastal climate allows to adapt quickly to the environment, and training in midlands increases endurance and help to get a good shape quickly. All year round athletes come here from all over the world for training and health improvement, and so did astronauts in Soviet times.
Resorts Association actively contributes to the preparation of Second World Nomad Games: in the organization of cultural and creative activities, holding of exhibitions, guests accommodation, logistics and so on. It is an official partner of the Kyrgyz State Department of Tourism and of the Kyrgyz Medical Accreditation Commission. They develop jointly standards and criteria for health resorts. Association also works closely with Chamber of Commerce of Kyrgyzstan, business councils in several countries (Turkey, Korea, Iran) and has offices in Uzbekistan and Russia.
Tourism infrastructure of the country is developing very actively, but should follow its own way unique with Kyrgyz hospitality and nomadic traditions – believes Meder Tilekmatov.
And finally, some interesting facts about Kyrgyzstan:
In 2014, Kyrgyzstan has won the international competition of National Geographic Traveler (according to the voting results on www.nat-geo.ru) in the category of “Health Improvement Tourism”.
In 2015, Kyrgyzstan has won in the same competition in the nomination “The best photo tour destination.”
In the fall of 2016, the country will hold the Second World Nomad Games with the participation of representatives from more than 40 countries around the world. Games are aimed at the preservation and revival of the history and traditions of the nomadic people of the world.
