Later, visiting the most interesting part of the Pearl of Caspian Sea, Baku, the Old City – with the discourse of Azerbaijani – Icherisheher: Entrance gates of Old Baku; fortification tower; Caravanserai complexes – Bukhara and Multan; Maiden Tower (under UNESCO protection); old mosques and bathes; Miniature Book Museum; Shirvanshahs’ Palace (under UNESCO protection); narrow small cobble stone streets; Continue with Nizami Street – a large shopping street in downtown Baku. Walking on Baku Boulevard; Boat Tour on windless weather in Baku Bay in the Caspian Sea with extra payment. Overnight in Baku

Breakfast at the hotel 09:30 – After 1 hour drive visiting mud volcano near Gobustan – mud volcano is a landform created by the eruption of mud, water and gases on the hill which is located 8 km from the highway. Several geological processes may cause the formation of mud volcanoes. Mud volcanoes do not produce hot lava. The Earth continuously exudes a mud-like substance. We will change our transport to local taxis. It is off the road to the mud volcano area. On a rainy day, it is impossible to drive up to the hill.

Visiting Gobustan National Park (under UNESCO protection): Gobustan is an open sky museum on rocky mountains on the Caspian Seaside. Primary people carved their daily lifestyles on rocks. There are more than 6000 carvings on the rocks near the Caspian Seaside.

On the way back to Baku visiting oil well, where the first time in the World oil was extracted with industrial way. Overnight in Baku.

Breakfast at the hotel; Check-out from the hotel 09:30 – Starting on the trip with visiting “Yanardag” – “Fire Mountain”: a natural gas fire that blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula near Baku which itself is known as the “land of fire.” Flames jet into the air 3 meters from a thin, porous sandstone layer

Visiting Fire Worshippers’ Temple – Ateshgah: The temple was built over a pocket of natural gas that fuelled a vent providing an ‘eternal’ fire which Zoroastrians used to worship.

Free time for taking photo around one of the unique architecture building in the world – Haydar Aliyev Center – designed by Zaha Hadid (Iraqi British designer). Later free time for shopping in Eastern style Green Bazar. Overnight in Baku.

Baku – Guba – Baku

Breakfast at the hotel 08:00 – After the breakfast starting the trip to Guba – it is 1,5 hour way to Guba; Guba is located on the Eastern end of the Caucasus mountains, which was part of the Caucasus Albania Empire (IV BC – VII AD). There were 26 tribes in this empire. Today remains of these tribes (Ketish, Haput, Lezgin, Tat, cCek, etc) live in the northern part of Azerbaijan. All these nations preserved their language, culture, traditions till today. After arriving in Guba visiting Juma Mosque (outside); Guba Carpet Weaving Center and Guba Memorial Complex.

Visiting Red Village – Mountain Jew village – the biggest Jew community out of Israel who was settled in the Caucasus Albania Empire BC.

Later continue to Khinalig village (1 hour); Khinalig is an ancient Azerbaijan village on top of the Grand Caucasus Mountains going back to the Caucasus Albanian period. It is the highest settlement in Europe. Citizens of the village call themselves Ketish and considering themselves sons of Noah, who was able to survive from the flood. Walking in the village; Lunch at local family. After lunch drive back to Baku Overnight in Baku.

Baku – Sheki

Breakfast at the hotel; Check – out from the hotel Starting to Baku – Lahij route: after 1 hour drive on the way visiting Diri Baba Mausoleum – the tomb of Sufi Sheikh – in Maraza

Continue to Juma Mosque (first Mosque of Caucasus), Yeddi – Gumbez Mausoleum (the cemetery of Shamakhy dynasty Khans) in Shamakhi city

After enjoying mountain view of Grand Caucasus Mountains on the way arriving in ancient Lahij village. Lahij was one of the main points on the Great Silk Road. Visiting workshops of blacksmith, potteries, carpet weaving shop, cobbled stone streets. The population of Lahij is ethnic Tats. The settlement is located on 1505 m above sea level. It was one of the centers of copper and weapon production in Azerbaijan in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Arrival in Sheki: Check-in at hotel

Visiting Old Sheki: medieval fortress, The Palace of Shaki Khans – the summer residence of Shaki Khans, Historical Museum; Round temple (outside); handicrafts workshop of Shebaka, national musical instruments’, takalduz

Continue with Sheki Caravanserai – a historical monument in Sheki; Free time for shopping around Caravanserai Overnight in Sheki.

Breakfast at the hotel Departure to Tbilisi – Gori route: On the way visiting Mtskheta; Jvari temple – monastery (VI c.) at the top of the mountain

Visiting Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (1010-1029): here was buried one of the major Christian relics Lords Chiton, as well as the burial place of many of the Georgian kings. Here is also the part of life-giving pillar.

Continue trip to Gori: the city was founded by one of the greatest kings of Georgia, David the Builder (1089-1125). Visiting Joseph Stalin Museum

Afterwards drive to Uplistsikhe, “the lord’s fortress”, UNESCO world heritage site, which is an ancient rock-hewn town in eastern Georgia, built on a high rocky left bank of Mtkvari River. It contains various structures dating from the 2nd ML BC to the Late Middle Ages. It is notable for the unique combination of various styles of rock – cut cultures.

Return to Tbilisi Overnight in Tbilisi.

Breakfast at the hotel Departure to Tbilisi – Stepantsminda (Kazbegi) route: On the way overlook the picturesque Ananuri fortress (XVI c.), located above Aragvi river and also the amazing beauty of Zhinvali reservoir. In passing the ski resort Gudauri (2200 m), the stunning trip along Tergi River, through Cross Pass (2400 m), will bring us to Stepantsminda (Kazbegi)

Visiting “People’s friendship” Monument on top of mountain; view to deep gorge of Caucasus Mountain Ranges

Excursion in Kazbegi: Visiting of Holy Gergeti Trinity Church with Jeeps (2170m above the sea level); when the weather is fair, the stunning view on the Mountain Kazbeg (5147 m), one of the highest tops of Georgia

Return to Tbilisi Depending on the flight details transfer to the airport End of the Program.
