This 9-day trip culminates in a visit to the stunning alpine lake Sary Chelek. Lake Sary Chelek is located in a remote biosphere reserve that also houses 6 other lakes as well as unique wildlife. Lake Sary Chelek is the most visited of all the lakes for its size and beauty. In autumn, the lake reflects the yellows of the surrounding trees to make the surface of the water look golden. In summer, the water is a magnificent emerald green.
Of course Lake Sary Chelek isn’t the only place you’ll visit. On the way you’ll see 3 beautiful gorges, ancient walnut forests, and hot springs. History lovers will get the change to visit an ancient minaret along the Silk Road, a petroglyph garden, and a museum dedicated to the life of a famous explorer. To add another dimension to the tour, get a glimpse into Kyrgyz culture by attending a felt-working demonstration where you can even participate and learn how to make a traditional Kyrgyz felt carpet. This trip has something for everyone: nature, history, and culture!
